How Important is Ellagic Acid?

Professional Testimonials

Greetings!

My name is Ralph Stewart, Chemist.  I am assisting Dr. Jim Webb and Associates in the development of the new raspberry seed product you have been offered for your patients.  I was intimately involved in the original development of raspberry seed as an outgrowth of Dr. Nixon's work with raspberries.

The material offered to you is the result of more than a years work to develop a strategically sized source of seeds.  Most suppliers of raspberry seeds are fruit processors who process many different fruits as commodities.  These processors are so large they are unable to control the varieties of their products.

For example:  The largest supplier of nutraceutical fruits in the USA processes over 100 different fruits.  Depending upon the season, their new raspberry stock can come from Chile, Poland, the Midwestern USA or the Washington/British Columbia area.

The ellagatannin content of raspberries and raspberry seed varies dramatically with the variety.  The highest levels are in the Meeker variety, grown primarily in Washington State and British Columbia.   The levels can indeed vary 50 fold from one area's variety to another.

The supplier offering the candidate material is strategically sized to service your needs.  They only process raspberries grown in the Washington State/British Columbia area.  The raspberries grown in this locale are 90% or greater Meeker variety.

This particular processor is very excited about being in the right place at the right time and being the right size to service this nutraceutical need.  I have introduced this supplier to the nutraceutical industry and the owner feels a personal obligation to me, personally, to allow me first opportunity on all of their product.  They are the only producer in North America willing to actively control their raw material stream to satisfy nutraceutical needs.

I was genuinely pleased to see the numbers Jim and his Associates quoted you for the candidate product compared to other products on the market.  It simply shows that the availability of sophisticated testing has grown, and that active process control can be used to deliver the best levels of ellagatannin/ellagic acid to this niche application.

The point I am trying to make is that this material isn't extraordinarily strong, but that other manufacturers use materials from uncontrolled, non-dedicated sources.  Dr Jim Webb and his Associates are simply making the levels that Dr. Nixon indicated, from the available dedicated-source.  A source that is strategically sized to provide for the neutraceutical industry, rather than pulling unknown source inventory that is normally used to make cake frosting.

Sincerely,

Ralph Stewart, Chemist
